SHADE AS ARCHITECTURE.

PROJECT STORY

A courtyard house needed shelter over its entrance court — shade that belongs to the building rather than sits on it.

A heritage facade that could take no visible fixings, and drainage that had to disappear.

A cantilevered steel frame tied back to the structure, with falls concealed inside tapered beams and a single hidden downpipe.
